Contemporary arts projects

Contemporary arts projects in locations linked with the erstwhile Gödöllő Art Colony

“The artist, in bringing together simultaneous strives manifesting in life should be just like the perspectie angle pulling up parallels running to eternity.”

Quote from the script attributed to the artist, displayed on the wall of the Sándor Nagy-house

Commemorating the 120th anniversary of establishing the secessionist art colony in Gödöllő, we would like to steer the focus to two emblematic locations of the original art colony: the Sándor Nagy-House and the Remsey-House. These places of our collective memory come back to life with instruments of contemporary applied arts whilst plugging them into the vibe of the city for the duration of the exhibition. The then Erdő, now Körösfői street is the link between the various locations of the secessionist art colony. What meaning did these locations convey for the artists and the colony as a whole? What notions tie these spots together? How can we relate to these memories? Invited artists present reflections through instruments of applied arts and via these locations and memories to the lifestyle, conception of life and reverence for nature of the artists of the erstwhile art colony. Adjoning and synthesis of different art genres take place within the parameters of the exhibition, following thorugh the all-art idea of the once art colony. Location-specific applied arts projects embody simultaneous notions of past and present through redefining the memories linked with the locations and setting them in a contemporary frame. Compositions are presented within the framework of the thematic art colony-program.
